Barring rain, snow or any other kind of inclement weather, the Philadelphia Catholic League will hold its first All-Star Football Game tomorrow afternoon at La Salle University.

The game features first- and second-team All-Catholic selections from the Southern Division against first- and second-team All-Catholic players from the Northern Division. Kickoff is 1 o'clock.

The inaugural game was supposed to take place last December, but rain forced Catholic League officials to cancel the contest.

And if this year's game goes off as scheduled, Delaware County will be well represented.

Six players each from Cardinal O'Hara and Monsignor Bonner, five players from Archbishop Carroll and one from St. Joseph's Prep are scheduled to take part in the game.

All-Delco defensive lineman Kevin Walls heads up the contingent from Cardinal O'Hara. Joining him are running back Josh Barr, offensive linemen Tom Worrilow and Sean Curtin, and defensive backs Mike Cassidy and Joe Bartenbach.

All-Catholic quarterback Dan Ryan tops the list from Monsignor Bonner, which also includes tight end Jim Davie, wide receiver Fran Nelling, lineman Steve Bernard and defensive backs Gerry McElhenney and Dennis Moran.

All-Delco linebacker Ed Stefanski is the top representative from Archbishop Carroll. He is joined by defensive back Jamie Lockard, tight ends Mike Kelly and Dan Heim and center Rudy Fabry. Sean Kileen, a resident of Broomall, was one of 11 St. Joseph's players on the Southern Division roster.

Former Carroll coach Dan Bielli, the head man at Kennedy-Kenrick, will coach the Southern Division All-Stars. He is joined by Bonner offensive coordinator Dennis Keegan and O'Hara assistants Marty Cull and Tony Naab.n
